The working at heights course is brought to you by ACT Safety and is designed to help you demonstrate a solid understanding of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and the legislative requirements for their use in the work environment.

About the event
This is a full ONE day workshop, from 8:00am - 4:00pm.
We will be offering 23966 as the theory pre-requisite and then 23960 and 23963 as the two practical's for the course.
NZQA Unit 23966 - Learn about different types of EWPs, their suitability for purpose, and their safety features + Legislative requirements in relation to code of practice and the use of EWPs
NZQA Unit 23960 - Assess the worksite, prepare to use a scissor lift EWP + Carry out operations in a workplace environment, report faults and damage, and shut down the scissor lift EWP
NZQA Unit 23963 - Assess the worksite, prepare to use a trailer-mounted EWP + Carry out operations in a workplace environment, report faults and damage and shut down the trailer mounted EWP
Key learning outcomes
· Demonstrate knowledge of types of EWPs, their suitability for purpose, and safety features (range: scissor lift, truck mounted, self-propelled boom lift, trailer mounted, vertical lift).
· Demonstrate knowledge of legislative requirements in relation to Code of Practice and the use of EWPs.
· Assess the work-site, and prepare to use a scissor lift EWP.
· Carry out operations in a workplace environment.
· Report faults and damage.
· Shut down the scissor lift EWP.
· Assess the work site, and prepare to use a self-propelled boom lift EWP.
· Carry out operations in a workplace environment, report faults, and shut down the self-propelled boom lift EWP.
